Why is car leasing not popular in the UK?

I have noticed in the US but also in many other countries that car leasing is popular.



Sure, you don't get an asset, but you also don't have to part with a lot of money and suffer the huge depreciation, especially with newer cars.



Plus you can easily change cars every year or so.



So why is leasing not popular in the UK? I just don't get it.Why is car leasing not popular in the UK?Main reason is you dont get the tax write off like you do in most other countries.
