Is it normal to hear a sound when an automatic car is changing gears?
Hello on my 1999 Camaro that is automatic, is it normal to hear a click when putting the car from park to reverse, or drive to reverse. You kind of feel it in the cabin and hear it when the windows are down. It takes like .5 seconds to go. Is this normal in an automatic with 102,000 miles,? it isnt like a violent jerkIs it normal to hear a sound when an automatic car is changing gears?it might be a sign that you need an transmission tune-up, get it checked ASAP, hopefully you wont need a new one.Is it normal to hear a sound when an automatic car is changing gears?all you should feel is it changing gears.Is it normal to hear a sound when an automatic car is changing gears?sounds like the universal joints are getting bad... they shouldn't cost that much to have checked and replaced... the longer you let it go the worse it will get...With a 102,000 mile tranny, it's normal to feel ANY click while putting it in gear, and grateful.inspect drive line U-joints. it could be the cluster pak has worn the housing .cause when you do a reverse to L1 it rips the trans a new 'hole.
