My car amp keeps cutting out. Why?

I had the set up in my other car and it worked fine, sounded great. I am running two 12%26quot; alpine type R. But since changing cars it cuts out when i play it very loud. I have checked all wires and connections and they are all fine. I was just thinking if the different acoustics in a car would make this problem occur and i would need to set the gain dials again, or could it be that the component speakers running from the stereo are not as good as the ones before and its actually the stereo itself cutting out. What do you think? My car amp keeps cutting out. Why?Yes if you went from a trunk to a hatch back or just a different trunk this can happen. Face the speakers to the rear of the car with the front of the box at the weather seal on the trunk beneath back deck. This should gain the right frequency. Then either the indash cant handle the highs or the highs cant handle the indash. Or may just be to much bass in the highs. Or also having a smaller ground than positive can cause this or may need to scratch paint off around ground. You want the best possible ground preferable to a solid spot. Also having a bad patch cord or having it running down the same side as the positive wire will cause this to happen. Should also check to make sure that the subs aren't out of phase meaning that one of the positive or negatives on the sub is backwards. You may want to try removing the padding from behind the seat ,this can also lead to over powering the subs. They may sound flat or restricted which may make you turn it louder trying to get the same sound as before. The placing of the speakers was just a good suggestion for better sound. But is as important as the wiring, equipment or any other thing. A system is only as strong as it's weakest point as is anything else. Another thing to remember is that every car will sound different. Best sound is when you find the right cabin frequency for the vehicle this is acquired by the placement of the speakers. Hope this info helps you out.

Acoustics in the car make no difference.

Most likely the car is unable to provide sufficient power to get the wattage you are asking for. Cure - higher output alternator and a bigger capacity battery.
My car amp keeps cutting out. Why?
it looks like my 2 cents has it right. obviously timbo is here has no idea what he is talking about. accoustics in a car play a large role in the performance of equipment.
You have Lupus
try plugging it in.
Wow, really?

Its obviously a problem with the amp. or some other electronic component.(wires, head unit etc...)

It's not the placing of the speakers, because that's not going to effect whether they WORK OR NOT.

It may to the Gain, try turning it down, also it may be the fact that your listening to the radio itself to loud...

Once the sound starts the break up because its so loud try to turn it down. Turning it up isn't going to give you that much more bass.
