When changing gear in a car?

When I change the gear when the car engine is switched off!

When I practice changing gear should I place the clutch down or not? This is when the car engine is swiched off. When changing gear in a car?clutch must always be depressed when changing gears either when the car is on or off
When changing gear in a car?
It will not matter either way , however the gears may not want to change easily without the engine running, there again it is a good practice , better than forgetting to dip the clutch to engage a gear when it is running !!
When changing gear in a car?
It wont make any difference to the car but if you are practising changing gear best to do it properly ie clutch fully down and palm the gear lever.
I don't know if it makes a big difference, but to be on the safe side I would, My car wouldn't even shift without the clutch depressed, unless it was forced even with the car off.
to me it sounds if you are a learner driver (soz if not ) but if im right you would be better using your clutch to get used to it. and it doesnt matter if you dont use the clutch when the engine is off
Agree with above - always use the clutch, in case you get into the habit of not doing that. Failing to use the clutch while chaning when in motion could cause either an accident or damage.
Useless practising changing gear without putting the clutch down otherwise you`ll not get the co-ordination right.Practise on flat ground with the handbrake on.
