What does it mean when a car jerks after changing the gears?

I have a haundyi accent that is an 05' automatic, recently when i shift gears in jerks usually when the car hasn't been run for several hours. But today when i was driving slow it jerked without me even changing gears twice. What could be the problem if any???What does it mean when a car jerks after changing the gears? You need a good beating with your own limb. Then run so the car doesn't explode and scar your beautiful face.

it's something to do w/ some kind of trans. bearing, hyundais are junk.

Your transmission is probably slipping.

This is caused by too much wear on the transmission gears.

Im not too sure if there was a recall, but you might want to look into it, see if any other hyundai drivers are having the same problem.

If you continue to let this problem slide, you will probably end up one day stuck on the side of the road without a transmission. It happened to me in my Mazda. I pretty much drove it to death.

This is a sign that your car needs a tune up and a check up.
Sounds like the clutches in your auto transmission are worn out and slipping. How many miles? You should contact a Hyundai dealer and ask what recommended service is for the amount of miles, and when you should have the trans. serviced. They may be able to flush the system if they have a BG trans flush machine at their shop. This makes a world of difference in the life of your transmission.

Good luck!!
ditch the automatic pile of junk and get a manual and learn to drive.

probably something to do with the automatics fluid being sticky when cold. its slipping cause its worn not adjusted right. go to garage/mechanic friend and have it looked at.
first thing is to check the tranny fluid, it might be low. second is to change the tranny fluid and tranny filter. if it still does it after that, then it is an internal problem with the tranny, and you should get your wallet out, unless you know how to rebuild a tranny. but, always try the simple, less expensive stuff first, no matter what everyone else says.
